over two months it has leaked out that
the tramway committee of the Glas
gow (Scotland) corporation has award
ed the contract for tne supply ard lay
ing of the conduit for convejlng the
cable for Glasgow municipal tracways
to the National Conduit and Cable
company of America. The work of
laying the Ipe under American super
vision has already begun, and some 500
navies are being employed. This con
duit contract is reported to be by far
