Rock Island trains between Omaha and Denver aro still being detoured over tho Union Pacific. Eight of these trains arc scheduled to pass through today. Tho wash out between Philips burg and Smith Center, Kan., had about been completed Sunday, when another heavy rain tell and washed out the track that had been repaired. Bob Blankcnburg living five miles cast of tho city had tho misfortune to bo caught in the hailstorm Friday nf ter noon. lie was operating his sweep in tho field when his horses became frightened nnd ran away, coming in contact with a wire fence, which was shortly after ward struck with lightning rendering Mr. Blankcnburg unconcious nnd des troying six sections of tho fence. Ray Clark, of Lewellen, appeared in tho Justice Sullivans court Saturday chnrged with damaging tho bedding at the Peterson rooming house by smoking cigarottes in bed which ignited tho coverings nnd burned through. He was fined $1.00 and costs and ordered to make good tho loss, which he did yes terday and returned homo with his pur ents this morning. Clark is about 14 years of ago. Architect Shaoffer, of this city has submitted to the vestry of the Episcopal church the plans and specifications for tho new rectory which it has been de cided to build. Armstrong, chief of police of Denver, stating that two men wore headed this way in a 1912 Elsmoro fivo passenger car whicl they had stolen from Gordon H. Ollis of Donvor.
