Marcel Provost has discovered tho reason for this superiority. "Tho jDbvloua meaning Is nover the one wo should read Into a woman's letter. There Is always a veiled meaning. Woman makes use of a letter. Just as sho employs a glanco or a urallo, In a way that Is carefully thought out, and with an eyo to offect. And. after all, her head? Does a woman's parasol keep off the sun? Why, then, should 1 woman's letter servo to convey her real thoughts to tho person ad S ressefl, just like the letters of somo honest grocer, who writes, 'I send you jflve pounds of coffeo,' because ho really docs Bend you flvo pounds of coffee." HONEST CONFES8ION A Doctor's Talk on Food. Thero aro no fairer set ot men on earth than tho doctors, and when they find they havo been In orror thoy are usually apt to mako honest and manly admission of tho fact A caso In point is that of a practi tioner, one of the good old school, who lives In Texas. His plain, unvarnished tale needs no dressing up: "I had always had an intense preju dice, which I can now seo was unwar rantable and unreasonable, against all muchly advortlscd foods. Honco, I never read a line of tho many 'ads' of Prape-Nuts, nor tested tho food till last winter. "Whllo in Corpus Christ! for my health, and visiting my youngest son, who has four of tho ruddlost, healthi est littlo boys I ever saw, I ate my first dish of Grape-Nuts food for sup per with my little grandsons. "I became exceedingly fond of it and have oaten a package of It every week since, and find it a delicious, re freshing and strengthening food, leav ing no ill effects whatever, causing no eructations (with which I was for merly much troubled), no sense of fullness, nausea, nor distress of stom ach in any way. "There is no other food that agrees with me so well, or sits as lightly or pleasantly upon my stomach as this 'does. "I am stronger and more active iilnce I began the use of Grape-Nuts than I have been for 10 years, and am no longer troubled with nausea and Indigestion." "Call Minnie by her last nnmo? Lot's see what It Is. O, yos, Morlarty. "I have always called my house keeper by her last namo, so if that is the requirement I am strictly up to date," said Mrs. Raymond Robins, 'who conducted the investigations rfor tho New York Association for Houso .hold Research, and whoso roport on tho employment of domestic servants was used as a basis for legislation In that state. " "It Is because the attitude toward household employes has been so en tirely undemocratic that it has been 'next to Impossible to get a girl of competence and spirit to go into do mestic service.
