The Farm ers Union State Exchange of Omaha haa the marketing of all of the com mercial potatoea of this association this season. Eay Tone in Spuds at (liicago Chicago. Oct. 1. The potato market continued easy and during the early part of the week price were somewhat lower than a week ago. It was the general opinion among the carlot operators that prtc es had reached bottom and that JusU aa soon as the accumulation ta thai different markets had been 3leane4 up values might be expected to ad vance. Due to the decline in prices ta all the markets, and the consequent re duction in paying price at loatteff stations, the growers have not b hauling as freely an heretofore, aad the average daily shipments from all necttons have dropped from approai mately 1.000 cars three weeks ago to an average of 700 cars daily during the present week. This market is undoubtedly typ ical of others in that liberal receipt! and light demand of the last twdj wetks has caused considerable accu mulation of cars on team tracks andl In the outer railroad yards. If the light shipments continue this accu mulation should be cleaned up by t.ie middle of next week, which In all probability will mean that the market would thn take an upward tendency. But little difficulty has been ex perienced In Obtaining an adequate supply of cars so far. bur wiiti tlie latter part of October here refriger ators are required now and the ques tion of whether the curriers will be able to supply a sufficient amount of rolling stock during the cold months is of utmost Importance to the trade, at thi.-. time. fUSSday Minnesota.
