Mrs. William Rothschild, of Omaha, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. L. J. Herzog. Mr. and Mrs. George H. Clarke and Miss Clarke have returned form a tour of the east. Mrs. W. G. Morrison entertained a few members of Delta Gamma inform ally yesterday afternoon. Miss Ruth McFall entertained a few young ladies Tuesday evening in hon or of Miss Gladys Howlett. Chancellor and Mrs. E. Benjamin An drews returned Thursday from a fort night's visit in South Dakota. Mr. L. O. Jones entertained his class in Grace church Sabbath school last evening in honor of Miss Gladys Howlett. Mrs. Angle F. Newman, who has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs. W. O. Thomas, left yesterday for Ne vada. Missouri. Mrs. O. A. Faulkner left yesterday for Excelsior Springs, Missouri, to join her husband. They will return together in about ten days. Miss Sidney Murphy rave a tin shower Saturday afternoon in honor of Miss Garnet Geer. Young ladies of the neighborhood were the guests. Mrs. Foggy of Mount Pleasant, Ia who was the guest of her cousin, Mrs. M. Scott, left on Monday for the west ern part of the state to visit other rel tives. Mrs. L. W. Garoutte Is absent vis iting Kansas City relatives. She will spend some" time with Mrs. H. M. Caspbeer at Neodesha, Kan., before re turning. Delta Delta Delta will entertain every day next week in honor of some of the new girls at the university, but the plans for the entertainments are not to be divulged in advance. The members of Pi Beta Phi will give two or three parties next week. Having several new members already pledged, this sorority does not feel It necessary to day and hard work in the way of rushing. Miss Edna Gund gave a china shower Wednesday evening for Miss Flora Roberts. On heart-shaped cards be tween dots scattered here and there, the guests drew pictures of Miss Rob ert's fiancee. A two-course luncheon was served. The Misses Agnes and Kate Mc Laughlin will entertain Monday even ing In honor of Miss Garetn Geer. Miss Edna Gund gives a party in honor of Miss Geer this evening, and she will be complimented In a similar way next Tuesday by the Misses Auld. The Misses Auld and Alice Auld gave a miscellaneous shower last evening for Miss Flora Roberts. The guests were the members of the Delta Delta Delta, who are in town, and the mem bers of the East Lincoln club of girls. A luncheon was served on small ta bles. Mrs. C. T. Kenworthy and Mrs. Calanan will give a linen shower next Wednesday for Miss Mabel Klock, at 3631 P street. Miss Leola Robinson, who is to be MIm Klock's maid of honor will give a china, shower for her. 4 THE LATE JOHN H. FAR WELL. Son of Mrs. E. Manila, of cholera, P. Holmes of Lincoln, whose recent death in came as a great shock to his Nebraska friends. Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Rose have re turned from their wedding journey through the eastern states and Canada. Miss Minnie Miller of Cheyenne, and Mr. Oscar Stansfleld of this city were married Monday evening at the home of the bride's parents. Mr and Mrs. Stansfleld will reside in Lincoln. a- The sororities will all do a "rushing business" next week. It is always in teresting to one who knows of the ri valries, to see which one wins in a spe cial case. Some very desirable young ladies enter the university this fall, and there will be some sharp, if good natured, contests. ft- Mr. and Mrs. John Harrison Geer have issued invitations to the marriage of their daughter, Garnet Louise, and Mr. James Bruce Mltchellr.of, Chicago., to occur Wednesday, September 24th at S o'clock in the morning. Only rel atives will witness the ceremony. Af ter a wedding breakfast the bride and groom will take the 10:30 train for Kansas City. The Century club will begin the sea son's work with a meeting with Mrs. Henry Hartley Tuesday afternoon. A talk on "Our Place Among the Na tions," by Mrs. G. G. Waite, and "Va cation Memories," by the members, will be given, also an address by the president, Mrs. A. E. Davisson.
