THE C O U K E II .Mis. S. II. Atwood gave a charming musicale this afternoon in honor of her sister Mrs. Nellie P. Agnew. Mrs. At wood's lieautiful liome was tastefully decorated, the reception room with link loses; the library with yellow roses, and the mantel in this room with palms and ferns. Many palms, and a bouquet of American beauties in a ent glass vase, were In the hall. The wide, doorways were all festooned with ropes of smilax, and the dining loom was done in preen and white. The buffet was banked with white car nations. In the centre of the table was a rare old silver basket, an heirloom, tilled with white carnations, and sus pended above it from the chandelier was a ball of the same Ilowers. The chandelier was further decorated with loops of white ribbon. Green ice cream, confections, small cakes and coffee were served. Mrs. A. I?. Pirle In a green gown, and Mrs. G. M. Lambert -son In white, presided at the table. Their assistants weie Misses Loomis. Post, Harper. Woodford and Agnew. Mrs. Atwood. Mrs. Abih-w, and Mrs. Belle M. Stoutenborough of Platts mouth, received the guests in the In dian corner in the hall, they were pro sented to the receiving line by Mrs. Kit Plummer. and were sea'led in the reception room and the library by Mesdames Callen Thompson. A. A Scott, Thomas Marsland, and Charles Branch. In the upper hall, Mrs. ( E. Yates, assisted by Misses Juliette At wood, and Margerie Agnew, served punch. Miss Catherine Atwood dis tributed the programs. The following musical numbers were presented: Barcarole, Moszkowski, Miss Marie Hoover. I Love You, Carl Sobeski, Mr. George S. Johnston. Goring Thomas, Miss Agnew. Mr. Johnston. Guests from out of town were Mrs. H. K. Palmer, Mrs. D. H. Wheeler. Miss Maynard and Miss Graves, from Omaha; Mrs. Stoutenborough. Mrs. T. P. Livingstone. Mrs. It. It. Livingstone. Mrs. White, Mrs. Henry Herold and Mrs. IsaLelle Ititchie. from Platts- mouth: Mrs. Itogers and Mrs. Gafford from Wymore. .. ... - - Chapter K. of P. K. O.. gave a dinner Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Jones. The fraternity colors, yellow and white, were in evi dence. The house was decorated with carnations and ferns and lighted by white candles under yellow shades. The menu was served in seven courses, and the men piogressed with each course. Toasts were responded to by Dr. Green, Mr. L. O. Jones, and Mrs. Matthews. Mr. Haydn Myer Mrs. J. M. O'Neal, of University Place, and Miss Barnaby entertained the company with songs. Miss White playing the accompaniments. Members of P. K. O. from University Place, also those in Lincoln not affiliated with the local chapter, were guests. - . ." r- - Last Friday evening Miss Grace Mus setter gave a card party in honor of Miss Weed of Geneva, Neb. An im promptu program of music recitations and short stories was given by Misses Weed and Meyer, and Messrs. Hustel Meyer and Lee. Light refreshments were served. f v -'.i Mrs. It. T. Van Brunt was called to Beatrice Monday by the illness of Mrs. M. K. Van Brunt, who was there visit ing her son. Madame Van Brunt wis so far recovered that the two ladies returned home Thursday evening. . ... ... .. .4- .." Mrs. A. L. Hoover and Mrs. K. C.
