THB COURIER r ' letters of greeting were read from many absent Jtnembers. Eighteen out of the eerenty-lwo members of the class are now married. Miss Compton was elect ed class secretary. The first reunion of the class of '01 since graduation was held at the homo of Mies Anna Rodgere on Wednesday noon. The table was decorated in scar let and cream, and the university colors were also used on the place cards. The toaBts were Sbaksperean quotations and were responded to by Mrs. Eleanor Will iams Sisson of California, Miss Ro6a Ilouton, Mr. F. E. Bishop and Mr. R. 0. Williams. The officers chosen are: President, Mies Anna Rcdgers; secre tiry and treasurer, Mr. P. E. Bishop; corresponding secretary, Miss Rosa Bou ton; chairman of social committee, Mr. K. 0. Williams. Sixteen members of the class of '95 were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Clark Oberlies on Wednesday. The decora tions were beautiful and elaborate, and were in the class colors, gold and white. After luncheon, Miss Olivia Pound, class historian, read regrets from the members unable to be present, after which the following guests responded to toasts: Doctor C. C. Etigberg, Mrs. Harry Harley, Misa Alice C. Hunter, Mrs. Frank Teal Riley and Mr. Fred Lyons. The members of the class who were present: Misses Gere, Clark, Mc Crosky, Lintby, Smithiand Mrs. Emory Hardy; Messrs. Woods and Holmes, and Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Oberlies. Miss Gladys Henry entertained thirty members of the class of 1000 on Wed nesday evening. The class was formally organized, and the following officers were elected for life: President, Mr. Fred Williams; vice president, Miss Sarah Muir; secretary and treasurer. Miss Gladys Henry, and historian, Miss Grace Rushton. A record of the class will be kept by the card system, and a meeting will be held every year. At the close of the business meeting ice cream and cake were served. The alumni banquet was held in Grant memorial ball on Wednesday eve ning. Mr. Fred G. nawxby, '09, was toastmaster. An excellent portrait of Dean Edgren was presented to the university by the class of 1901. It is a bust view three feet long and two wide, in a broad gilt frame, and hangs north of the librari an's desk in the library building. The active and alumnae chanter of Pi Beta Phi met on Monday morning at the home of Miss Lois Burruss to ad minister the pledging ceremony of the fraternity to Misses Helen Dolson and Bess Burruss of Lincoln, Blanche Meek er of Greenwood, and Katharine Ilea cock of Falls City. After the ceremony light refreshments were served. MrB. W. A. Lindly and Miss Lindly gave a large card party on Monday aft ernoon. The effective house decora tions were roses and palms. Refresh ments were served by the hostesses, assisted by Mrs. Hardy, Mrs. Harley and Misses Whedon and Brooks. Mrs. Lind ly and Miss Lindly entertained tifty ladies at a kensington on Wednesday afternoon. FernB and roses wore tho decoratious, and refreshments wero served. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hammond have issued invitations to tho wedding re ception of their daughter, Miss Maude Hammond, to Professor Allen Clemence Fling of Nebraska City. The ceremony will take place on Thursday evening, June twentieth. The manlage of Miss Eva Newbio Bolshaw to Doctor Alfred O. Peterson of Omaha was" celebrated at the home of the bride's parents, 13i North Eight eenth street, on Tuesday noon. Palms, roses and carnations formed the dec orationa in the drawing room; smilax, pink roses and pink candles with pink shades were used in the dining room. A mandolin orchestra played in the upper hall. The ceremony was per formed beneath an arch of palms by tho Reverend J. Lewis Marsh of All Souls' Unitarian church, in the presence of relatives and a few intimate friends. Miss Helen Brown played Mendels sohn's wedding march and Miss Maude Cummings of Tecumseh carried the ring in the heart of a cally lily. Fol lowing the ceremony a large reception waB given from two till four o'clock. The guests were admitted by Miss Grace Bolshaw and were received in the drawing room by Mr. and Mrs. Bolshaw and Doctor and Mrs. Peterson. Miss Joy Bolshaw and Miss Martha Pierce assisted in the parlors, while Miss Gert rude Brown directed the guests to tho dining room. Ices, wafers and confec tions were served by Misses McConnifT, Maude Linder and Helen Brown, and a package of wedding cake tied with rib bon was given to each guest by Miss Gertrude Cooper. Doctor and Mrs. Peterson will be at home at 2526 Parker street, Omaha, after July fifteenth. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Sawyer enter tained the Pi Beta Phi sorority and its friends on Monday evening. The form of entertainment was novel and original. Cards were given to the guests on which they were requested to specify in order of preference six forms of amusement. Music and dancing proved the most at tractive. Musical numbers were called for from Mr. Martin and the Misses Turner, Burruss, Dolson, Kyle, Walker, and Ashmun. Dancing followed and later in the evening dainty refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Ransom celebrat ed the fifth anniversary of their mar riage with an elaborate logomachy par ty on Monday evening. The house was decorated with pink and white roses and carnationB, and the score cards were tied with pink and white ribbons. The refreshments, which were served in two courses, carried out the color scheme; the ice cups were in dainty pink cases and the cakes and wafers were pink. The guests were admitted by Master Dolliver Armstrong and were directed to the dressing rooms by Miss Hazel Walker and Miss Grace Hall. Mrs. Ransom, assisted by her sister, Mrs. McCain, received the guests. Flowers were given instead of prizes. Tho guests were: Messrs. and Mes dames Townsend, Somraerlad, Violet, Hotaling, Smith, Miller, Watkins, Van derpool, Schwake, De Mange, McCain, Grimes, Constance, Boynton, Tibbetts, Coovey, numpe and Mathews; Misses Teeter and While; Messrs. The guests were: Mrs. George Risser and Mrs. Lacey; Misses Lulu Wirt, Edna Carecadden, Grace Reynolds and Belle Reynolds of York; Anna Lytle of Greenwood; Kate Walk er, Beth Marshall, Darlene Woodward, Gladys Henry, Jennie Barber, Anne Stuart, Lennie Stuart, Margaret Kyle, Grace Andrews, Katharine Sedgwick and Amy Robinson. Miss Turner also gave a dinner party on Wednesday eve ning at which the guestB were: Mr. and Mrs. Cnarles Hurlbut Walker, Mi6s Kate Snow Walker, Mr. Ben Wayland and Misses Grace and Belle Reynolds of York. At the recent meeting of tho Delta Gamma fraternity in Lincoln, the con vention voted to Kappa chapter the privilege of electing the national presi dent. The Iowa chapter elects the treasurer for the next four years.
