The nieo were given ties to be matched to aprons worn by the ladies. The men wern entered into a hemming contest of aprons. Mr. Harold Steiner won the royal and Mr. Albert Levy the consola tion prize. The prize for the least ego in conversation was won by Harrj Yates. Dr. George L. Coutant and David B. Mercer. The Hawthorne club of the high Echool entertained the Brownings, the Ciceronians and the Philogistons Sat urday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Auld. About seventy were present who entertained themselves with old fashioned games and music. The drawing room was deco rated with pink roses, the Hawthorne Hower. The reception tall, library and dining room were in red and adorned with carnations. Miss Vlics Auld re ceived the guests at the door. Miss Margery Watkins served punch all eve ning in the reception room. Saturday evening Miss Grace Hays of Centerville was initiated into Pi Beta Phi sorority at the home of Miss Beth Marshall. A banquet at the chapter house followed the ceremony. Flowers and confections votive offerings of other fraternities decorated the rooms and pleased the palates of hosts and guests. Some of thoss present were Misses Barber, Beth Marshall, Stuart, Stuirt, Kyle, Carscadden of York, Thomas, Mc Pheeby, Andrews, Robinson, Heacock, Waugh, Sedgwick, Montgomery, Hays, McGahey, Florence McGahey, Burruss, Reynolds and Jessen. The Nebraska branch of the associa tion of collegiate alumnae entertained the young ladies of the senior class of the state university at the home of Mrs. W. E. Hardy Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Hardy, Mrs. H. II. Wilson, Miss Tre main and Dr. Edgren received the guests. Miss Tremain gave a brief ac count of the origin of the general asso ciation and spoke of the hopes and pur poses of the Nebraska branch. Dr. Edgren delivered an inspiring address on "Evolution of Univeieities." Ices were served by Mrs. Lau. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Buckstaff have taken rooms at the Lincoln hotel. Mr. and Mrs. George Haskell, who pur chased the Buckstaff home, moved in on Monday. The current topics department of the woman's club met on Tuesday.
