On Friday afternoon Mrs. Edward Fitzgerald entertained informally at cards in honor of her guest, Mrs. Wil liam Bulger of Chicago. Those present were: Mesdames Bulger, Buckstaff, Brown, Crittenden, Funke, fiargrearea, Tilton, Thompson, Marshall, Wilson, Wright, Leonard, George Woods, Dor gan, Frank Woods, A. S. Raymond, I. N. Raymond, Dayton, Mark'Woode, A. E. Hargreaves, Aitkin, Mullon, Curtice, Will Dorgan, Charlie Mayer, Henry Mayer, McMurtry, J. J. Butler, Ogden. Morrison, Oakley, Brock, and Rummer. Married, on Tuesday afternoon at the home of the bride, 2932 Dudley street, Miss Leta Brockelmeyer to Mr. George J. Brown, by Reverend H. S. Feix. The house was decorated with pink, red and white carnations, palms and other foliage. The drawing room where the bridaf group stood waa in pink to match the costume of the bride. Her gown was of pink mousselin de soie made over taffeta with garnitures of white lace applique and black velvet and a black velvet sash. Her bouquet was of pink roses. The wedding was attended by relatives only, but a re ception to about one hundred at.d fifty friends was given in the evening. The guests were received by Mr. Brockel meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Brown, Mrs. F. G. Yule and Mies Mary StevenB. Punch and ices were served by Misses Minnie Johnson and Leeher assisted by Misses Ellen Fitzgerald, Marie Bowers, Esther Hawley and Minnie Brockelmeyer. The bride and groom received many hand some presents, among them a cabinet from the Fitzgerald Dry Goods com pany, of which firm the groom is an employe, having charge of the adver tising department. Mr. and Mrs. Brown left on Tuesday evening for Ni agara and other eastern points. They will be at home to their friends after October the fifteenth, at their new home 1411 Garden street. Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Thompson en tertained the Bohemiennes at the last picnic of the season on Wednesday, Mrs. John Fitzgerald offering her beautiful grounds for the occasion. After the supper which was served on the lawn, music waa given by the ladies while the gentlemen amused themselves with pool. Those present were: Mes srs. and Mesdames Lew Marshall, W. C. Wilson, Edward Fitzgerald, Critten den, W. B. Hargreaves, Tilton, Buck staff, F. W. Brown, J. B. Wright, Carl Funke and Leonard. Masters Howard Wilson, Wright, and Miss Crittenden. Mrs. Frank Irvine was unable to be present on account of her injuries, A dinner was given at the home of Mia, Eleanor Deweese on Wednesday evening by the alumnae of Delta Gamm in honor of Mrs. James McCrosky of Buenos Ayres. The gathering was of the nature of a reunion after the Bum mer vacation, as well, and was greatly enjoyed. The table was beautified with, pink roses, cprnationB and artistic place cards, bearing miniatures in water col ors, from the brush of Miss Jessie Lans ing. The menu was served in five courses. Invitations were extended to Mr. and Mrs. James McCrosky, Mrs. H. J. Whitmore, Miss Tremaine, Mrs. Frank Woods, Mrs. Ray Edmisten, Mrs Deutsch of Beatrice; Misses Lansing, WatkinB, Haggard, Mullon, Wing, Bride, Mulliken, Starrett, Rice, Dennis, Welch, Polk, Webster, Gregory. On Wednesday a six o'clock luncheon was given to the alumnae chapter of the Delta Gamma fraternity by Mies Eleanor Deweese at her home on the corner of Sixteenth and J streets in honor of 'Mrs. McCrosky of Buenos Ayres, a former student at the uni versity. The decorations were pink roses and carnations. The guests were: Mr. and Mrs. McCrosky, Mesdames Ed miston, Frank Woods, and Whitmore. Misses Mary Tremaine, Bridge, Wing, Mulliken, Mullon, Haggard, WatkinB, Lansing, Welch, Gregory, Webater, Polk, Dennis, Rice and Starrett. Miss Towns and Miss Emerson chap eroned this party of High school young people for a wheel ride and a picnic at Branson's grove on Saturday: Misses 'Luella Lansing, Lulu Abbott, Harriet Hulton, Ethel Ames, Iaez Everett, Ruth Bell, Nellie Ludden, Carrie Ludden, Margaret Wharton, Bessie Wharton, Flossie Erford, and Edna King. Miss Marion Hall, just turned five years, with the aid of her mother, cele brated the anniversary by a party last Saturday afternoon. Mrs. W. J. Bulger and daughter Anne, of Chicago, are visiting Mrs John and Mrs. Edward Fitzgerald. Mr. Bulger will arrive tomorrow. It was Mrs. Edward Fitzgerald who drew a brass rod on a burglar and frightened him into hysterics and out of the house, clasping to his panic-stricken chest most of Mr. Linneen's and Mr. Wehn's jawelry. Mre. Edward Fitzgerald is a petite, gentle-voiced woman, not of the sort you would select for a burglar alarm, but she is spirited. The burglar got away with the jewelry. Miss Alberta Spurck, class of 1900 of the University of Nebraska, went to Tacoma, Washington, last week. She will takecharge of the physical culture of the young women in the Annie Wright seminary, the Episcopal school for young women. Miss Spurck spec ialized in this department of the uni versity and has since token a course in physical education at Chautauqua, New York. Her appointment to the posi tion from a large number of applicants is a credit to Miss Spurck and the physical culture department at the university.
