It is very seldom that guests are in.
vited to as successful an entertainment
as the musical given at the Conserva
tory of Music on Monday evening by
Mr. and Mrs. Kimball and Mr. and Mrs.
EameB. The guests were received in
the reception room. Mrs. Kimball wore
a very effective gown of yellow mous
seline elaborately trimmed in tucks and
black applique. Mrs. Eames was hand,
somely gowned in white 'camels hair
cloth ovetj ellow silk. The bodice was
of white silk with lace and chi.Ton trim
mings. Mrs. Barbour and Mrs. Holm
aspisted in receiving. Refreshments
were served after the musical in the
recital room. Miss Haskell served salad
and Miss Boyk of Omaha, poured cotlee
at individual tables. The tables were
draped in yellow ribbons and ferns and
brilliant daffodils were scattered about.
Palms were used in great profusion and
the entire color scheme was yellow
Yellow poppies covered the lights and
daffodils were bunched together on the
mantled. The programs were unusually
pretty, the work being done in pen and
ink and a dainty daffodil was tied on
one side with j ellow ribbone.
Mr. Oscar Gareissen of Omaha, a
baritone singer of great breadth and
smoothness, gave a very attractive re
cital. The program was given through
out with tine understanding and Mr.
Gareissen will always be remembered
as a true artirt. Too much cannot be
said of Mr. Randolph who accompanied
Mr. Gareissen and who has always
proven himself to be a very sympathetic
accompanist. The following program
was given:

Mr. Gareissen gave a group of balla-Js
t his own accompaniment on the
pianoforte and wen a double encore.
Mrs. Charles Hall gave au informal
dinner in honor of Mr. and Mrs. R. M
Turner, on Tuesday night.
Mrs. Tavep will entertain the Paragon
Euchre Club at the Lincoln Hotel this
evening.
Mrs. Hayden and Mrs. Campbell en
tertained the West Side Circle of the
Presbyterian church on Thursday after
noon. After the usual business meet
ing a game was played called "peanut
walk." A dainty dish was placed in
one room and a baskot of peanuts in
the other. The game was to carry the
nuts on a knife from the basket to the
dish. The guest succeeding in getting
the greatest number into the dish won
the dish as a souvenir.

The measuring party given by the
City Federation of Women's clubs of
York, at Mrs. C. C. Cobb's on Tuesday
evening, February 27th, was, in spite
of the unpleasant weather, a most en
joyable event.
By six o'cloak the rooms were filled.
The price of the supper was pscertained
(is advertised) by measuring the height
of each person, and was conducted by
Mr. C. F. Gilbert and Mr. C. M. Cow
an. The charge was two cents per
foot and one cent for each additional
inch.
Mr. Cobb has something of a col
lection of curios which was interesting
to some of the party.
Another entertainment was the mak
ing hf silhouettes or "shadow pictures"
and the array of portraits made the
"art gallery" an attractive resort for
many of the company.
Mrs. Holben gave a reception at her
home, Thirtieth and R Btreets, on Wed
nesday afternoon in honor of the circles
of the Second Presbyterian church.
The dining room of the Grand Eotel
was gay in scarlet and gold on Tuesday
evening, decorated in honor of the an -nual
banquet of the Quiz Society of the
Lincoln Medical College given for the
senior class. Festoons of scarlet and
gold were carried from the chandelierB,
and the mirrors along the walls were
draped in thn colors. Potted plants
and palms decorated the tables. One
hundred members of the society were
present and listened to the following
program:

The Second Circle of the Second
Presbytorian church was entertained
on Tuesday by Mrs. Job Hathaway.
The meeting closed tho year and the
annual Thank offering was given. A
short program was followed by refresh
ments. Mrs. Gerhart entertained the L. A.
Kensington on Monday arternoon' at
the home of Mrs. Chapin. 631 South
Eleventh street. A guessing contest
called "a country dinner" was played
and Mrs. Cougill won first prize. The
following were guests of the club: Mrs
Wendling, Mrs. Cougill of St. Paul
Miss Weeks and Miss Pitcher.
The Nineteenth Contury club was
entertained very delightfully Tjy Mr
