evening in celebration of Mr. Guenzel's
birthday. A very pleasant evening was
spent in playing euchre. Mrs. Usher
and Mr. Harris won the royal prizes and
Mrs. Munson and Doctor Finney won
the boody prizes. The invited guest3

Foster. Richards, Rehlaender, Wilkin

The Tuesday night dancing club gave
one of their delightful informal dances
at Courier hall on Tuesday. Those
present were: Misses Clark, Richards,
McPheely, Hammond, Douglas, Pad
dock, Woodward, Morgan, Macfarland.
and Paddock. Messrs. Marley, Rick
etts, Folsom, Sheldon, Shick, Anderson,
Turpin, Paine, Attwood, Mattson and
Robbins.
Mrs. Frank Woods entertained infor
mally on Wednesday afternoon in honor
of MiEB Webster of Manchester, Eng
land. A dainty tea was served at five
o'clock. ThoEe present were: Mes
dames Mnrk Woods and George Woods.

Burr, Welch and Cochrane.
Mr. Ernest Ames ha3 returned from
an unpleasant experience in the mining
regions of the west where the miners
carry revolvers and ehoot over a dif
ference of opinion as they do in Ken
tucky. Mr. Ames on account of his
youth and strength has quickly recover
ed from the shot fired by an "enraged
miner. His many friends are delighted
to see him back again unharmed.

Joyce, Smith, Honeywell, Eames and
Fitzgerald.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Howe entertained
in honor of Mrs. Manchester and Mrs.
Rollins on Tuesday evening. Six handed
euchre was plajed, and Mrs, Mullen,
Miss Carson and Mr. Hargreaves won
the prizes. The - guests were Messrs.
and Meedames Rector, Woods, Har
greaves, Curtice, Mullen, Crancer, Mor
rison; Meedames Manchester and Rol
lins ; Miss Carson ; Messrs. Joyce and
Honeywell.

awarded the members who have won the
most games. The members present
