The now overcrowded main floor will have four departments taken from it with a future location upon the second floor; the immense upbuilding of our Dress Goods, Linen, Hosiery and Underwear, Glovos, Notions and Domestic Departments has necessitated for months past which, until now, has been impossible to procure for them. Each department will eventually almost have double its former space. Our Cloak, Suit, Corset and Muslin Underwear departments have outgrown the space they now occupy by three times their capacity. They will, in the future, occupy commodious quarters upon the second floor, with ample room for the display of their fine stock. Situated on the floor also will be added sev eral new departments, which will be announced later on. Along; the west wall will be located all the general offices of the establishment, together with ladies' parlors dressing and toilet rooms, nicely furnished in modern style. The Swastika is an East Indian myptic figure or symbol of good iuck, well known to the Bra hamanand Buddhists and frequently employed in the decorative carvings and. paintings upon the temples of the east. The word is of Sanskrit origin and sig nifies happinees, well-being, goo 1 luck. The origin of this symbol is wrapped in mystery. No one knows how, when-or where it originated. However, it has positively been ascertained that the fymbol had its birth' in pre-historic times. Ith one great point of interest lies in the fact that it is extremely old. Its unquestionable significance as a mark of happinees or, well being makes it doubly acceptable to one who is writ ing to a friend desiring to convey in every possible way that expression of good will which nullifies distance and draws the world together in a fealing of kinship.
