Buckstaff thia evening. Mrs. W. E. Bark ley entertained at dinner for her Sunday school class of boys from the First Presbyterian church Wednesday evening. Professor and Mrs. Barbour will en tertain the party of friends that were together this summer in Yellowstone park, this evening. Morrill, Barbour. Professor and Mrs. Kimball gave a dinner at the University School of Music Wednesday evening. The halls and dining room were beautifully dec orated in Christmas green and holly, and the table was very daintily decorated in white hyacinths. Covers were laid for Messrs. and MesdameB Wilson, Bar bour, Caldwell; Mrs Apperson; Miss Moore; Messrs. Lowrey and Randolph. Friends of Mr. Willits Sawyer, of Schenectady, New York, will be glad to know of his recovery from a serious ill aess that has lasted for several montbB. Mr. Sawyer is able to resume his work in connection with the Western Elec trical company of Schenectady. HIr. Jesse Beecher, of, Sioux C!ty, visited friends in Lincoln this week. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Everett will re turn to Chicago next week, where Mr. Everett will resume his medical Btudiep. Mr. J. S. Glover and daughter, Mrs. Paul Davis, of Waterloo, la., spent Christmas with Dr. and Mrs. Hoover at the Lindell hotel. Judge and Mrs. Deemer, of Red Oak, la., are visiting Mr. Deemer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Deemer, of this city. Miss Anita Muir has returned from Albion to spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Muir, of this city. Mr. and Mrs. 0. H. Miss Helen BuB'arJ and Mr. Leo Tonpkinson were married Tuesday morning at the St. Francis de Sales church by Reverend Father Albert. The bride wore a white gown of mousse line de soio over white silk and carried bride's roses. The maid of honor, Miss Rose Bustard, wore a white Swiss dress and carried pink roses. A reception wbb given by the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Bustard, for Mr. and Mrs. Tonkinson. The house was beautifully decorated and a large number of friends called during the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Tonkinson left for their home in Waverly. Mr. and Mrs. T. J. O'Conneil enter tained the Nineteenth Century Card Club Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kennedy, of Omaha, are visiting in Lincoln. Mr. Ralph E. Johnson left Tuesday for St. Louis, Indianapolis, Washington, Philadelphia and New York. Mrp. G. M. Bartlett left Friday for San Antonio. Mr. George Bartlett ac companied his mother as far as Kansas City. Mr. and Mrs. Ode Rector entertained the Chafing Dish Club Tuesday night in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Reese, of Colorado Springe. A delicious two course supper was .served to Messrs. and -Mesdames Curtice, Reese, Merrill; Mrs. Hickey, of St. Joseph; Misses Burr, Harrison; Messrs. Butler, Baldwin and Honeywell. Progressive caboose was played and Mre. Robs Curtice won the lady's prize and Mr. Baldwin the gentle man's prize. Mrs. Reese took the con solation prize. Mr. Lew Marshall met with a very painful accident Wednesday morning. While working upon a ladder he fell and wrenched the ligaments of his el bow, broke his arm in two places, his wrist was brokeu and his elbow suffered a compound fracture. The Tuesday Night Dancing Club gave a dance at the dancing academy. Those present were Mieses Garten, Welch, Ricketts, Daniels, Hamilton, Clark, Hayes, Emmons, Holbrook, Ham mond, Lansing, Raymond, Paddock; Messrs. The Lincoln high school class of 2 held its annual reunion at the home of MIbb Clara Smith Tuesday night. No pecial amusement was furnished.
