The reception givon by the vestry of of the Holy Trinity church for Bishop Williams, of Omaha, was held in the church crypt Friday evening. The members and friends of the church who came to meet the new bishop were mot by Mr. Eason and iuroduced to Bishop Williams and Mra. Williams, Mre. Eaeon, Mr. and Mrs. Rud4e, and Mr. and Mrs. Ewing. The vestry feel that much of the success of the evening wjb due to Mrs. Gere and her able committee. Several Kensingtons were given this week. Pleasant, Iowa, added to the pleasure of the evening. Those present were Misses Garten and Coch rane and Messrs. Tallman, of Wisconsin, and Mor'ton, of Iowa college, and Mitch ell, the president of the province, from Nortwestern college. The Oliver theater was packed from parquet to gallery Tuesday night. The "Little Minister'' was on the boards and Lincoln's society people turned out in large cumbers. Messrs. and Meadamea Simon. Charles and Henry Mayer and Miss Anna Mayer occupiod one of the boxes. Another box party consisted of Messrs. and Meidames George Woods, John Dorgao, Mark Woods, Mr. Howe. Mrs. W. J. Bryan left this week to join her husband and son in southwest ern Missouri, where Mr. Bryan has been enjoying a week's hunting trip on the game preserve of Colonel W. C. Wet more. Mr, and Mrs. Brytfn will then go to TexuB. The Kansas-Nebracka football game this afternoon will be well attended.
