Mr. Charles Coghlan, the famous Eag
lish actor, first came to America under
tho management of Augustin Daily in
1870. He playod Henry Evelyn in

ater, London, refusing an offer of lead
ing man at tho Lyceum theater, a posi
tion accepted by Sir Henry Irving. Mr.
Cogblund was born in Paris, and be first
