Tho Kappa Alpha Thotasa popular young ladies fraternity of tho State University gave n delightful picnic at Lincoln park Tuosday afternoon and evening. After an elaborate dinner tho young ladies returned to tho city in time for Prof. Hagenow'Bconcort which was enjoyed from the porch of Miss Loola Vancil's home. While absont from Lincoln they patisod several days at tho Chicago Whist Congress, a journey by the lake steamer to Mackinac island whore a few days wero spent. Prom Mackinac thoy cruised via Lake Superior to St. Paul, Minneapolis and Minnotonka Beach, threo days boing Bpont at thb latter place, returning to Lincoln last Tues day. Mr. and Mra. H. S.Lippincott of Now York city are in tho city on a short visit at tho homojof Mr. Lipponcott's father, Joeoph A. Lipponcotr. Mr. Lipponcott is vico president and eastnrn manager of a large Jail and Manufacturing company of St. Louis, with his headquarters at New York. Ho will remain in tho city fer a :ow dajs and rotutn by way of St. Louis. Mr. and Mrs. Lippencott bavo many friends in tho city who are enjoy ing thoir visit. Mrs. Harry sajs that Mrs. CharlcB Lippancott is singing a great deal, that her voice is improving, and that it is much appreciated. Tho East Lincoln Mission Chain hold its regular weekly meeting at tLo Evan gelical church, 20th and Holdrogo, Tues day afternoon; Committee roports show that much good acd nuoded work is bo ing accomplished by this band of ladies. Mr. and MrB. T. S. Allon entertained informally Monday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. B. Graves tormorly of this city but now of Minneapolis. Lansing aro ex pecting a visit from their son Oliver, who arrivod in Ran Francisco on tho In diana thirty flvo days out from Manila, tho twenty-first of this month. Mr. Lansing enlisted a year Hgoin the fourth infantry, lie arrivod in Manila on tho 11th of March and has been on tho lighting line over since.
