The East Lincoln W. R. P. C. club
gave a most delightful reception and
oyster supper in honor of Mr. and Mrs.
Smaldins at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Sinclair. Mrs. Phelps welcomed the new
members in very appropriate words.
Mrs. C. W. Wilson and Mr. W. A. Mc
Glare also made very good and very
witty toasts. Some very good piano
music was also enjoyed. The house
was decorated very artistically with
Autumn leaves and bitter-sweet.
A subscription party will bo given at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. John B.
Wright this'eening. It is given in
honor of the new members. A musica
programme will be heard in which Mes
daasas Wright, Campbell, Barbour, Miss
es Oakley, Raymond, Messrs Burnbam
and Randolph will take part. This will
be followed by an elaborate supper.
Mrs. J. H. Harley gave a very pretty
and informal luncheon for Mrs. John
Hewitt of Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday
boob. Covers were laid for ten. The
table waa profusely decorated with pink
rosea. Mrs. Hawley's guests were Mes
damee Gere, Coffrotb, Green, Coleman,
Amee, Kier, Millar and Isaac Baker,
Aa enjoyable swimming party was
given Wednesday morning at the Sani
tarium. Meadames R. J. Green, Jen
nings, Beeson, Ogden, Sutton of New
ark, Ohio, Dundy of Omaha, and Miss
Price were present. After the plunge
Mrs. Ogden entertained the ladies very
delight'ully at luncheon.
Mrs. Newton Thacker of Dayton,
Ohio, who has been the guest of her
sister, Mrs. Milton Scott, left on Tues
day for her home. She was accompanied
by Mrs. Scott who will be absent about
three weeks visiting in Chicago, Bush
nelland Galesburg, Illinois, and Mt.
Pleasant, Iowa.
Mr. and Mrs. R. Suter formerly resi
dents of Lincoln, announce the weddiog
of their daughter Emma Adriana, to
Mr. Alexander Cruishank of Toobit,
South Dakota, on November 17th.
Miss Suter was a well known and popular
youBg lady of Lincoln two years ago at
which time her parents moved to South
Dakota.
iNelia Cochran entertained the
alumni chapter of Delta Gamma on
Monday evening in honor of Miss Knox
of Pittsburgh. The guests were Misses
Knox, Garten, Wing. Bessie Wing, Hag
gard, Deweeee, Polk, Welch, Watkins,
Mmllon and Mrs. Frank Woods.
The Le Veta whist club met with
Mrs. A. W. Fields on Tuesday evening.

Mrs. Thurston's mother, is an honored
guest of the same household.

This afternoon Mrs. C. D. Pitcher
will give a thimble and scissors party to
some of her friends. Palms and cat

Mr. August Hsgenow has secured
Mr. George Hamlin, the famous tenor of
Chicago, for the next Philharmonic
Concert, Monday, December 5tb, at the
Oliver Theatre. Mr. Hamlin ranks fore
most among the tenors in the United
States.
Mrs. C. D. Pitcher geve a very enjoy,
able six handed euchre party on Friday
afternoon. The house was beautifully
decorated with palms and chrysanthem
ums. Light refreshments were served!
Mrs. J. T. Stevens will give a one
o'clock luncheon today for Mrs. Smith,
Mrs. Paul H. Holm, Mrs. H. B.Ward,
Mrs. J. L. Teeters, Mrs. J. W. Winger,
Miss Barnaby and Miss Peters.
The first artist recital will be given by
the Matinee Musicale on next Monday
evening. Admission 25 cents. Mem
bers will be admitted by membership
tickets.
Mrs. C. L. Burr gave a delightful
Kaffe Klatache Monday morning for
Mrs. Henry Mansfield, who is in the
city visiting her mother, Mrs. Rosa
Funke.

Mrs. Frank Hobbs of Salt Lake City
who has been visiting Mrs. C. I. Jones,
has returned to her home.
Miss Anne Rivett, hairdreeeing and
shampooing, moved from Burr Blk to
tne Emporium, 113 South Twelth.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. R. Robinson of
1936 J street gave a taffy pull for Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Gadd, on Wednesday
evening.
Mr. Claire A. Briggs, the St. Louis
artist, rettrned to his home and work on

Mrs. W. F. Kelley is enjoying a visit
from her mother, Mrs. McClure, of Mt.
Pleasant, Iowa.

Mr. Ralph Meuller has returned to
the university after spending his sum
mer at the exposition.

The ninth annual banquet of Lincoln
Sorosis was held at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. A. J. Sawyer on Friday evening.
Miss Katherine Searlee gave a pro
