Mr. and Mrs. McDonald re ceived their guests in the green and gold drawing room which was fragrant with American Beauties. They were assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Truce Coffroth, Mr. and Mrs. William Leonard, Mrs. Sewall, Mr. Zehrung. and Mr. Magoon. Tea was served in the dining room. The ta ble was daintily laid with Battenburg lace and lighted by violet candles in sil ver candelabra, and the fragrance of violets was everywhere in the room. Mrs. Coffroth poured the tea. She war charming in a light green taffeta, decol iete gown with a choker of coral and diamonds. Champagne punch was served in the Moorish room. This room is a dream of loveliness. The walls are lined with Turkish divans and lighted by Moorish lamps hanging from a fish net ceiling. Mrs. McDonald wore a gown of pale blue duchesae satin em broidered in turquoise with garniture of coral velvet, chokjr and fan chain of pearls. Mrs. William Leonard, royal blue velvet and diamonds. Mrs. Sewall wore an exquisite black gown. Too live o'clock tea lingered on until near eight o'clock wnen tht last of the guests were compelled to t;ar themselves away for the Philharmonic concert, but not until many of the gentlemen bad enjoyed a smoke in the Turish smoking room. The Cotillion club met for the first time this season on Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Buck staff and a pleasant affair it was, as, after the lone vacation, the membe s were delighted to meet again. Dr. C. F. Ladd led the dance in a gracious and. happy manner. Tho favois were given out by Mrs. W. C. Wilson and her cousin, tint. Loveland, who is her guest. A figure was danced in honor of the ab sent members, Lieutenant and Mrs. Townley. A pleasant feature of the evenirg was the presentation to Mr. and Mrs. Buckstaff of a handsome Dickens jardiniere as a token of appreciation of their commodious dancing room.
