Miss Mae Burr will return soon from New York, where she has been studying music. Mr. Louis Westermann, who has spent the winter in Decatur, 111., has returned to Lincoln. .Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Fleury went to Fremont Tuesday to attend the Patton Fischer wedding. Mrs. E. Hallett has been called to Ottumwa, la., on account of the serious illness of her mother. Rev. Dr. Hindmau, of the First Pres byterian church, has gone to Chicago for a few week's rest. Mrs. Carson and Misses Mame atd Rose Carson, and Mr. J. L. Carson are at Excelsior Springs, Mo. Mrs. Irvine and Mrs. Buckstaff at tended a tea given by Mrs. Powell in Omaha on Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Harry Everett, son of Dr. and Mrs. H. M. Everett, returned to his medical studies in Chicago on Tuesday. Mrs. O'Connell entertained chapter K of P. E. O. on Tuesday. Mrs. Archi bald Scott was initiated into the society! Miss Bernice Merrill has returned to Lincoln again. She spent the winter with friends and relatives in Hartford, Conn. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Jacques were summoned to Ord on Tuesday by the serious illness of their little daughter, Kathrina. Miss Julia Weil, who has been the guest of Miss Eleanor Raymond, re turned to her home in Columbus, O., on Tuesday. Mr. Skinner of Newark, N. J., who has been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Van Brunt, left for his home on Wednesday. Dr. A. Ross Hill is in Omaha and will attend the banquet given by the Cornell alumni for President Schurman in that city on Saturday night. Mrs. Do gan, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Buck- staff, Mrs. Irvine, Mrs. Leonard, Mrs. Ballantine, Mrs. Tilton and Mrs. Har greaves spent Wednesday in Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. George Waite of East Lincoln have returned from the east. Mrs. Waite has been visiting in Buffalo, i. i., and other cities hr several weeks. Miss Lena Anthony gave a ktnsington on Saturday afternoon. Her guests were Miss Kribbler of Seward, Misses Clinton, Erford, Wetzel, Burt, Howland, Mickin. Leese, M. Erford, Meek, Morgan Mr. Jus9 Maloy, who has made bis home in Lincoln for over a year, left on Wednesday for Om?ha, his former home. He leaves many friends here who will miss him, yet many will welcome him at his old home. Mrs. C. F. Ladd gave a delightful kensington on Thursday afternoon. She was assisted by Miss Blanche Har greaves and Mies Olive Latta. Mrs. Ladd will give another kensington on Saturday afternoon. Mrs. A. J. Sawyer and Mrs. M. D. Welch were in Omaha on Wednesday to attend the banquetglven at the Willard for Mrs. Henrotin, president of the Fed eration of Women's c!ub&. Mrs. Sawyer responded to a toast. Mifsss Ellen and Frances Gere, Flor. ence Winger, EleanorRaymond and Mrs I. M. Raymond, went to Omaha Tuesday with Miss Weil, who was on her wav to her home in Col'imbus O. The young ladies are indebted to Mr. Raymond for a most delightful day. Ths B. B. Whist club met on Wednes day evening with Mies Anna Mayer. The playing was unusually good. Four ladies were found to have equal scores Miss Franck won the prize on the cut. Mr. Herzog won the men's prize. Dainty refreshments were served. Misses Ellen and Frances Gere gave a one o'clock luncheon on Saturday for Miss Weil of Columbus, O. Their guests were Misses Raymond, Weil, Whedon, Harley, Hammond, Cropsey, Richards, Margaret Whedon, Nance, Farwell, Watkins, Williamson, Welch, Winger and Mariel Gere. Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Ralston of Worth ington academy, gave a reception on Tuesday evening for Chancellor and Mrs. MacLean. Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Phillips, Lieutenant and Mrs. Stotzen. berg and Mr. H. J.Walsh were the guests. The chancellor addressed the boys upon the "Secret of Success." Miss Mamie Edna Fisher and Mr. Frank Cargill Patton were married at high noon on Tuesday in the First Presbyterian church of Fremont. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. Pattan of Omaha, father of the groom. The bridal March was played by Miss Bell Marshall. A wedding dinner and reception were given imme diately after the ceremony by the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anda Fisher. Mr. and Mrs. Patton are both well known in Lincolo, and their many friends extend hearty congratulations and earnest wishes for success. Mr and Mrs. Patton will reside in Omaha. '
