advantage of the fine sle'ghicg Sunday,
and drove to Bslhany where the afore
mjntioaed couple were married at the
home of Rev. J. W. Hilton. Altar the
ceremony, they drove to the home of the
bride's mother at Havcbck, where au
elegant wedding dinner was served. At
3:30 the small party started for Mr. and
Mrs. Hubbard's future home at 1541 O
street. The rooms were beautifully de
corated with cut tioweis, and aa. infor
mal reception was held. The guests
were received by MIbs Prindle, and re
freshments were corvod by Miss Pluma
McMeechon and Mrs. Birdie Tuttle of
Holly, Co'.o. Mr. and Mr. Hubbard will
be at home after Dicember 12th. Their
many friends wish thsm joy and hap
piness through life.
A quiet wedding took place Wednce
day evening at tho Halter block at 8:10,
the contracting parties being Mr. Wil
liam A. Prindls and Miss Con A. Reck
well. The rooms were beautifully de
corated with cut llower?,- palms and
puiple ribbon. Ih-j little bride Icoked
very charming in a cream costume.
Mr. Clark Prindle and Mr. Frank Rock
well were best men and Miss Stella
Smith anil Mns Jennie Bearup were
bridesmaids. R:-f(e.-hmtn1s were serves
to only a few relatives and friends. Mr.
and Mrs. Prindle will at once goto their
riew home in tho Applfgste block on
North 12th street, with the best wishes
of their many friends.
The Castleman Pleasure club gave
their second ba'l ot the eeasin Wednet
day evening, in the Light Infantry hall.
The ball was prettily decoratsd with
red, white and blue, ar.d several large
pictures adorned the walls. About
twenty-live coup!c3 were present, all
being members. Qu'ti a discussion waB
hell to see whether their nest ba'l
would be a masquerade, bard times or a
Hogan's alley ball, but was decided it
should be the same as tho last. Th3
-evening was enjoyable and it is hoped
that all the members will be present at
the next one, which will bs December
20th.
About twenty ot tho young people
from Fitzgerald's Dry Goods Co., en
joyed a bobsled ride Friday evening, aftt r
which they were invited to the home of
Alva Hawley, where a delightful oyster
supper was served. Mr. Hawley is a
charming host, and his guest3 appreciat
ed his efforts in their beh;lf.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis J. Herzo have
invittd about one hundred and fifty of
their ftiends among tho mus'cians and
muEic lovers of Lincoln, for Thursday
evening from 3 to 9:30 p. m., to meet Mr.
Martin Cahn and Mrs. Alexander Pol
lack, both of Omaha.

Pound tendered a banquet Tuesday
night at tho Capital hotel to a few mem
bers ot the Nebraska football team. The
gue6ti were: Coach E. N. Robinson,
Harry Oury, Phil Rusiol, W. II. Hsy
ward, Captain George Shedd, Dr. H. C.
Peterson and Rcscoe Pound. The ban
quet was for those who are leaving the
football toim.
The supper was served in ten courses
in the main dining room. The table
was prettily decorated with flowers and
the university colorp. The guests talked
over the events of the football season
and toastzd the pennant winners of Ne
braska's only glor.ous eeason of football.
On Wednesday, December 8th
ao. exceedingly jratty wedding took '
place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. W.
Baldwin when their daughter Gertrude
was united in marriage with Mr. Rief
sniider, of Chicago. Just at 10.30 Mies
Willoughby's orchestra began Mendelc
sohn's wedding march, and the bride
and groom entered the pirlor where
their friends were arse mbled. Dr. Row
lands pronounced the beautiful cere
mony which made them man and wife.
Misj Baldwin wore her travelling gown
ot browa broadcloth trimmed with
brown satin and fur, Mr. Riefsneider
the conventional bltck. The wedding
breakfast imsediately after the cere
mony was for about fifty of the immedi
ate fmndp, and was given by Mrs. G. S.
Baldwin. The reception to a greater
number of friends was given from 12 to
1. Light refreshments were served. The
wedding cake contained a ring,athimble
and a dime. All the young people c:uld
have the privilege of trying to be the
successful one. The ring was drawn by
the bride's brether, Warcsr Baldwin,
the thimble by Miss Ruby tnd the dime
by Mits Hsss. The preeents were ex
quisite. An unusually large number of
pictures beinir anlong the collections,
and the generous bank account being
not the least to be appreciated. The
couple left at 2:15 for points in the
east. After a few weeks of travel they .
will return to Chicago where Mr. Rief-.
sneider 13 engaged in business. Their
home on the north side is ready for them
and thsy will go imstcJiately to house
keeping. Mr. Riefsneider is a compara-
tive stranger in Linc:lo, but Miss Bald
win has lived here several years and her
hosts of friondsare well acquainted with
her good qualities and they offer their
beat wishe3 and congratulations to, Mr. .
and Mrs. Riefsneider.
Mrs. 15. E. Giffen is in Chicago study
ing art with Prcf, Chaec.
Mrs. Ward Richardson entertained
the Onca a Week kensington club verj'
pleasantly on Tuesday afterncoa from 3
to 6. Dainty refreshments were served.

day, after several daya visit with Miss
Ruth Weller of Omaha.
Miss Nina Dodd of Hamilton, Ohio,
who has been delightfully entertained
by Miss Frances Rector for some time
has returned to her home.
Mrs. Lieutenant Griffith returned la3t
week to San Antonio, Texas. She will
remain there only a short time before
going to St. Louis, her future heme.
The many friends of Miss Henriotta
Hollowbush, will be glad to hear of her
return to Lincoln.
