The number of ltdies who have got to be ex pert swimmers is large and re ceives weekly accessions. Miss Elliott dhes, swims under water, and djes all kinds of somersaults with tho ease of lifo tong training and she has enly learnedin tbe the last few year'. Mrs. Ogden is another who has mattered the salt wave. Mre.Ogden's high diving End grand and lofty tumbling makes the little wake of followers catch their breath. These ladies have practiced various methods of saving the drowning until grasped in mest any position they can swim with case with tlie limbs or portions of limbs that tbe imitation drowning per son has left free. To those wh aro unable to take a summer va cation the sanitarium pool with its 142x&0 fet cf ccol, green water, is refreshing and simulating. Without it Lincoln would be a hot desert tilled with travellers with hot parched.throats who are constantly assailed by the tempta tion of Job, viz: "To curse God and die.' A dip into tbe ocean water at the sanitarium recalls lon stretches of floe sand that morning and evening are lapped by the waveB that coxe and go at tbe moon's caprice. But the pool has not only reminiscent beau ties; the dabs of light from the glass ceiling have an iridescent glow and a grotesque, poster outlino all their own.
