From there a considerable jour ney still awaits them in going to Mati bele land, where they will labor as mis sionaries for the Seventh Day Adveatist faith. It will be remembered that the couple was selected at the world con ference for this far off station. G. M. Lambertson, Dr. O. -Lambert-son and J. K. Honeywell have returned from their trip to Deuel county after waterfowl. They report killing about forty ducks, several of thorn canvas backs. A hunting party left Lincoln on Mon day for a ten days' outing in the lake rrgion twenty-five mile3 south of Alliance. The party comprised John T. Dorgan, Brad Slaughter, J. II. Humpe, J. H. Ager, Charles E. Waite, E. J. Burkelt, Paul F. Clark, Frank D. Barney and F. O. Barney. O. Grolhan ot St. Paul joined the party at Grand Island. H. Wiggenjost, who was rejoicicg the other day over the birth of a ton is now mourning the death of the little one. The boy died without any apparent ill ness on Saturday night. Sheriff John Trompen entertained a party of ministers and elders of the Re form church from the southern part of the county at dinner on Monday. Thoy were on their way to Orange City to at tend church conference. The party was compoied of Rev. A. M. Van Duyne, Hol 'and; Rev. H. Stf gman, Pella; Eldera H. J. Teselle. Firth; H. The committee appointed by the president-general of the national society of the Sonsof the American Revolution, to whom were referred the various eesaysof the colleges throughout the country for competition for the gold medal, have selected the essay presented by R. S. Baker of the university ef Ne braska as entitled to the gold medel. The medal will ha ecgraved by Tiffany ifc Co. and forwarded to Mr. Baker with in a shot t time. The J. O. C. club held i's regular meeting at tho home of Miss Jennie Siade Friday evening. The house was prettily decorated and the dining room was prepared for dancing. Th:s form of amusement was enjoyed by most of the yoiin; people although a few found thtir pleasure in social conversation. Refreshments were served. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Lathrop Taylor of the Colorado Agricultural school, a eon, March 13. 1697. Mr. Taylor will be remembered as Mrs. John L. Mc Connell's nephew. He spent much of his youth in Lincoln and during that time trade many friend who will be glad to heat cf his good fortune. Prof. Fred M. Fling and wife left on Monday for a four months' trip through France. They are to sail April 21 from New York for Antwerp on the Kensing ton. They will go directly to Paris, re maining there a few days. From there they will make a circular tour embracing all the cities where Mirabeau was a resi dent or prisoner and examining -all docu ments referring In any way to him. Pro fessor Fling has been studying the great orator and leader for many years and Is already the author of a monograph con cerning him. He is now collecting mate rial for an elaborate life of the revolu tionist and this tour Is to draw all possi ble information from original sources.
