Dr. Chlvers, Prospect Avenue Baptist church. Buffalo; and the Rev. H. G. Lord. "West Side Presbyterian church, Buffalo; had published charges against the democratic candidate that set the whole country in an uproar. August 9th sixteen citizens of Buffalo published sweeping denial of the charges, ad dressed to the "Independant republi c'ansof the nation."
