HenryDixey.n reiniuisconceof his former self, appeared in a mediocro play at the Lansing last Friday night. Dixey is no longer Adonis. Sully has a few faithful admirers. The Woodward company has amused a large number of people. "Wang"' sans Hopper, was voted by many as goo.1 a "Wang" with Hopper. Next week we wi'I havj tlio Iloldens, James O'Neil and Al Field' minstrels. ANNOUNCEMENTS James CNjill in "Monte Cristo" is an attraction that never fails to draw audi ences, and his return to the Laneing ww r ymm$ next Wednesday will undoubtedly be made a popular event. "Monte Cristo" will bo put on with all the original splendor and interpreted by a conipe- fjg&$Mx tent company. In the public estimation among romantic actors, O'Neill stands facile princeps. He has the picturesque ness of Fetcher, whose successor he may well be called, and ho possesses even in a greater degree Fetcher's poetic charm and Fetcher's dlingenkni power. His by-play," that severest test of an actor's resources is appropriate, fertile, charac teristic. He rises to the full height of a melo-draraatic 'situation'" on pinions that seem equal to any ascent. He scores his "points," for points are inseparable from the roles of romantic stage heroes, not only with unvarying precision, but with electrical effect. He seems made to move among the lords and ladies, the velvets and laces and rapiers of the ro mantic drama. Field's minstrels will come to the Lansing Thuredaj, February G. This company is the most popular minstrel organization that visits Lincoln, and its annual appearance is awaited with genuine interest. Field has many new hings this year. No company over or ganized has achieved the wonderful success "Darkest America" has. When Al G. Field starteu to organize tho com pany, a great many predicted its down fall and failure, saying that tho days of negro performances was over. Such is notthucaso with "Darkest America." Al G. Field spent two years in organiz ing this company, and he naturally se cured the pick of the colored profession. Tho performance iscutirelyorigin.il and different from anything ever produced in the minstrel line, and one. of which Mr. Field is justly proud, as it only strengthens the hold ho already has on public favor, as ho has always fulfilled his promises, and thereby gained the confidence of the people. m The Holdcu Comedy company will re turn to the Funko opera house Monday night for an engagement of one week at pouular prices. This company played to ho largest business done by any rep ertoiro company playing in Lincoln, last week at the Funke. They present strong plays, paying royalties to tho authors, and the company numbers some very competent people. The Iloldens have been playing in Council Bluffs this week, and have made the same impres sion that they made here. Monday night a gentleman and lady will be ad mitted on "no 30 cent ticket. A free supply of sugar will do this ; so will the starch' foods ; cream, and some other fats. But to become fleshy, and yet remain in poor health, is not what you want. Cod-liver oil increases the weight because it is a fat-producing food. But it does far more than this. It alters, or changes, the processes of nutrition, restoring the normal functions of the various organs and tissues. Scctls Smilstoru of Cod-liver Oil with hypophosphites, is pure cod liver in a digested condition. So that when a person gains in weight from taking Scott's Emulsion, it is because of two things : First, the oil has acted as a fat-producing food ; and, second, it has restored to the bod' a healthy condition. Such an improvement is permanent; comes to stay. 50 cts. and i a bottle. SCOTT & UOWNE, ChcmUts, Nw York. 1Hp TANSIXG T22S ED. A. CHURCH. Mgr.
