Being given at the beach it will be very informal. Harry Irvine, formerly director of tho Nebraska State Band, has enlisted in regular army and is now stationed at Ft. Russcl is bandmaiter. Georgo S. Walsh left Tuesday for San S.dwtdor and Central America. He will visit Niagara Falls and Philadelphia, sailing from New York on the 10th A number of summer outing parties are being projected. Sheldon of Nehawka were in the city this week. Miss Ada Gregg of Kansas City formerly of Lincoln, is visiting Miss Helen Welch. The Universalist church closed last Sunday and will remain so during the vacation of the pastor. F. S. King and II. W. VonSickle of Omaha, visited friends in this city the first part of the week. The Athenia club consisting of ten couples will go to Milford Wednesday for two weeks camping. Walter B. Curtis and George E. Similir of Layfayette, visited Mr. J. tl. McMurtry this week. They were well pleased with Lincoln and its surround ings and Mr. Curtis is thinking seri ously of locating in Lincoln shortly. Miss Daisy Tuttle sang Shelley's "Abide With Me" at the Plymouth Cogregational church Sunday in a very pleasing manner. Other numbers were given by Mis.ses Abbot and Churchill supported by the choir and a duet by Mrs. Doane and Miss Churchill. Mrs. E. A. Stevens of 2435 O btreeet was very successful surprised by a number of her friends Saturday evening. When she returned home in the eve ning after a trip down town with her husband she found seven couples awaiting her. The evening was spent at cards ami games. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. II. W.
