hauser were married Tuesday evening
at the Kimball hotel, Chancellor Dun
gan performing the ceremony.
Miss Carrie Wasmer, of Grand Island,
was the guest of Mrs. Low Mrshall this
week.
A parlor musical for the benefit of the
Y. W. C. A., will be given at the residence
of Mrs. A. J. Sawyer, May 10.
The English club of the state univer
sity will meet Monday night at the
residence of Prof, and Mrs. Adams.
Miss. Mario Hoover gave a piano
recital Wednesday evening at tho hall
of the Nebraska conservatory of music.
Miss Hoover was assisted by Mr.
William Lamprecht, violinist -Both
performers were heard to excellent
advantage and gave delight to a large
and cultured company of friends. Miss
Hoover was happy in her selections,
and played with great delicacy and
feeling.
Saturday evening at the Union Club,
members of the Omaha whist club and
of the Union Club came together in a
a second whist tournament and as on
the first occasion, Lincoln secured a
victory, winning by six points.

meeting of the Unity club.
E. B. Sherman was in Galesburg, 111.,
this week. He took part in the inter
state oratorical contest Thursday night,
and last night ho debated in the Kansas
Nebraska debate at Lawrence.
C. H. Clark of Cedar Rapids, la., is
the guest of his brother-ia-Iaw, C. I.
Jones.
Members of Alpha Tau, the local
chapter of Beta Tbeta Pi, entertained
handsomely 'at tho beautiful home cf
E. C. Ames on South Twentieth street
last evening. The house was elaborately
decorated with plants and flowers and a
profusion of pink and blue ribbon. The
parlors were canvassed for dancing, and
the drawing room, library and spacious
lawn made delightful promenades. Mr.
and Mrs. Ames received, assisted by
Miss Ricketts, Mr. Ames and Mr.
Forbes, president of the chapter. Ices
and light refreshments were served during-

The Gamma Delta dancing party at
the Lincoln Hotel Wednesday evening
was the gayest and most brilliant party
ever given by the young people of the
university. Mr. T. E. Wing was master
of ceremonies and Prof. Brrbour and
Mrs. Frank Woods led the grand march.
