ADDITIONAL
The second annual ball of the Capital City Cycling club was
given in the Lansing hall on Friday evening. Miss Willougbby fur
nished enchanting music for the dancers. Card tables were arrang
ed for those who preferred a quiet game of cards. The ball was a
success in every way.
Sorosis met last Saturday at the homo of M s. J. F Maulc. It
was decided to send delegates to tho stato federation meeting at
Omaha, but no action was taken in reference to joining the organiza
tion. The subject for discussion was "Poods' and tho paper pre
sented by Mrs. Earbour was very intetesting. Tho subject was pre
sented under these topics: History, Cook Book Lore, Cookery of
Various Nations, Nature and Elements of Foods, Physiological
V.ffaft Thn Rr-ipnrn and
Economy of Cookery. Adul
terations and Legislation,
Food Supplies-Foreign and
Domestic, The Food Supply
of the Future. A subject
of so great interest bro ght
forth an animated discussion
in which the visitors joined.
Sorosis adjourned to meet
December 27th with Miss
Lichardson at the Windsor.
The ladies of the Century
club invited about two-hundred
of their friends to a
lecture by Prof. Fossler at
Curtice Music hall on Wed
nesday evening, December
12th, The hall was made
attractive by rugs, flowers,
banquet lamps and other
home adornments. The
lecture was full of interest
and held the audience in
close attention as Professor
Fossler told of the origin
and subject matter found
in the Neibelumgenleid.
After the lecture ices were
served and an hour spent in
social enjoyment. It was a
mo6t successful undertaking
and those favored with an
invitation were grateful to
the ladies for sharing so in
tellectual a feast.

The Fencers club gave
their first exhibition at their
rooms in the Ramge block
Monday evening.
Captain Broatch left on Sunday
where she lies dangerously ill.

Another dance that was enjoyed by the younger members of
society was the one given by Miss Cady Wednesday evening. Miss
Elliott and the Misses Gardner were the guests of honor.
Among the teas of tho weok were those of Mrs. James Mcintosh
Tuesday afternoon, Miss Chandler's in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Wyman, on Thursday; and on Friday Mrs. M. F. Richardson's for
Miss Scott.
Mrs. Jas. E. Boyd gavo a Kensington Wednesday afternoon.
Mr. W. B. Meikle returned from Chicago on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Barber have returned from their wedding trip.
