The chrysanthemum show opened Wed nesday in the Halter block under the aus pices of the Lincoln Chrysanthemum so ciety. The display was beautiful and the largest ever made in the state. The walls were banked with flowers. In the centre there were two large tables and one large circular stand filled with beautiful plants. Ever' professional florist iii the city and nnmerous amateurs had an exhibit of plants or cut flowers. The following young friends of Miss Sue Bartrum tendered her a jolly surprise on Friday eveniug. With music, dancing, games and delicious refreshments the evening passed so quickly 'that the young people hardly realized that it was time to bid their hostess good night. Benham of Fort Omaha entertained in that manner also the Misses Hamilton for Miss Doak; Miss Webster's guest. On Monday next Miss Dewey will give a luncheon for forty at the Paxton hotel, and the following Friday Miss Brown gives one in honor of Miss Buck.
