It is Saturday night. Faces hurrying by
Havo a pleasanter look and a kindlier eye.
For the mellowing thought of a Sunday of
rest
Brings gentle reposo to each turbulent
breast.
The battle is finished; with happier tread
The conqueror comes with his portion of
bread.
Though hands may bo weary the spirit is
bright
With a vision of teace; it is Saturday night.
It is Saturday night, and I wonder if I,
When the light of life's Saturday fades from
the sky,
Can come with my purposes earnestly done
And the price of a victory manfully won.
Oh, brother of mine! when our labors shall
cease,
May we walk through the valley of beauty
and peace.
And, looking beyond to a palace of light,
Be joyed with the thought, "It is Saturday
night. Nixon Waterman.
