Texas Man Is Convicted

erman was found guilty of man
slaughter in connection with the kill
ing of Jay Clay Powers, prominent
hotel owner, actor and playwright,
by a jury in criminal district court
here last night and sentenced to five
years in the penitentiary. The jury
rendered ite verdict at 10:30, after
having been out four hours and 45
minutes. "

Scouts Attend Bamecue. . ;
The Boy Scouts of Omaha have
been called upon by the Chamber of
Commerce to furnish 100 uniformed
Boy Scouts for the Chamber of
Commerce barbecue to be held at
Elmwood park on June 10. The
scouts who are enrolled for thit will
take care of the policing of the large
crowd of people who attend the
barbecue. Each troop has been
given an apportunity to supply three
scouts for this service and their
names should be handed in to head
quarters. -
