Officials of Midlnd are lading
plans for the greater development of
the college and a committee h.t been
appointed to draw up a building pro
gram for the coming year. Among
the building! that are now proposed
are a gymnasium and new dormi
tories.
Dr. Krueger Is an alumnus of
Midland college, graduating with an
A. B. degree in 1903. He took a
Ph.D. at the Univer.ity of Nebraska
in 1911 and for 11 years has been
connected with the Western Theo
logical seminary, teaching historical
and practical theology.
About 25 years ago Dr. Krueger
was pastor of the Germaji Lutheran
church in Fremont, from which he
resigned to take a more extended
course at Midland.
Prisoner Tells Deputy
He's Bad, Bad Character
Fred Leo Miller informed Deputy
United States Marshal Jim Davis of
Omaha in Grand Island yesterday
that lie is a "dangerous character."
"I can take these things right off,"
said Miller, working with the hand
cuffs. 'Tou try it, and I'll put a bullet
clean through you." said the deputy.
"Guess you don't know my repu
tation," said Miller.
Davis told him he didn't care about
the reputation. He arrived in Omaha
with the prisoner yesterday after
noon. Milles is wanted in Cave City, Ky.,
where he escaped from an officer
while being escorted from jail to the
federal building to be sentenced for
a postoffice robbery. He will b
taken back hy one of the Omaha dep
uty marshals.
Krug Heirs File Appeal
Heirs to the estates of Fred Krug,
former Omaha brewer, and his
widow, Anna Krug, yesterday ap
pealed to the district court the deci.
sion of County Judge Crawford that
both estates must pay separate in
heritance taxes. The heirs sought
to have one tax paid for the two es
tates which are estimated at $500,000.
