damaged grain, 117 cars of hard winter
wheat received at Chicago from Kanaas
City, out of a total of 111 cars, graded
number three. The general quality of ths
grsln -was very good with the weight rang

a majority! of the care had three-tenth
to one-half of on per rent of heat-damaged
grain, whll Ih rules permit only
two-tenths of on per cent. The grain I
going strelght through to Waaburn-Cros-by

tinued upward In the cotton market to
dsy. Prices were bid up I to 7 points
with the opening call, then eased off to
a level of 1 to points net loss, but
came back-again toward mlilse.nlori with
renewed support from nervous short and
room traders. Moat of the support wss
based on wet weather In the south. The
bigger operators continued to wait new
developments. The afternoon tendency
was' distinctly upward snd on detailed
-reports of heavy precipitation in the
eastern belt, prices mrued some z to 4a
pointa over yesterday's cloe. Realizing
preasure was fairly well absorbed on the
way up. The final tone was steady to
firm, with last price 3 to S3 points
better than Mondsy.

Chicago. April 18. Light supplies and
firm advice from the east caused a firm
tone to the market today. Fancy butter
was cleaned up In god shape and there
was no great accumulation of the lower
scarce However, the quality was only or
dinary and many of the usually fine
marks were showing upward. The mar
ket on fresh cars of centralized was firm,
er. There were several cars on the mar
ket, but most of these did not grade 90
and goods scoring less are not in much
demand. A few cars of storage central
ised were moving around 33o to 3314c.
