oiij which owes it existence to the
writer of tilit record, a statement
made nrcessary by the demand, of
historical accuuey. Notwithstanding
this handicap the program pro
gressed smoothly, dicloinfr creative
talent of a high ordrr; and if there
was little of the abstruse or recondite
there was much that was attractively
melodious and s nunctrically de
signed. The program enlisted the services
of a formidable array of singers
and instrumentalists from both with
in and without the city, to name
whom individually would go bryond
the limits of the present account. The
event must be reckoned as a real
achievement on the part of the Fort
nightly club, credit for which is due
to the program committee and to the
leader of the day, Mrs. J. R. Cain, jr.
