list was little changed at the end of a
session of narrow price movements. The
marKet opened 1 to 6 polnta net lower
u;:der pressure from Well street, spot
houses and the south, but sfter the call
csme back on a level with last night's
close. T undertone continued steady,
with trading light and featvreleaa
throughout the morning. Business turned
more active as the session progressed,
but much of the business represented
professional give and take by commission
houses. Msy wss off 4 points at the
close and December waa 2 pointa net
lower, with the rest of the list unchanged.
Spot was quiet. 10 points decline, 17.80c
for middling upland.

change In the local raw sugar situation.
Nearby augara were neglected and nomi
nal. Ijtte April Cubaa were quoted at
2.15-32C. coat and freight, equal to 4.08c
for centrifugal, with May shipment at
2c, cost and freight, equal to 4.11c.
There were sales of 12.000 bags of Cubaa,
April leading, and 40.000 bags for May
clearance at quoted pricea to operators.
The raw sugar futures market was
steady early, but after showing advances
of 1 to 3 polnta on renewed buying for
outside account, prices eased off under
realising. Final quotations were 3 points
lower to net higher. May. 2.62c; July,
2.72c; September, 2.90c; December, 2.95c.
There were no chsnges In refined sugar
with fine granulated, listed at 6.25c to
6.60c. with business only of moderate
proportions.
There were no transactions In refined

looking for a decided break with further
