cotton market today went slightly higher
after early liquidation In trading of gen-

10 points; before midday they were at a
level of 8 to 16 points net advance'. Local
bulls bought on the better cables and
selling was based on xaore favorable
weather In the cotton belt. Dullness
marked the afternoon trading, amounting
only to professional give and take. The
market closed near its high, 2 to 12 point
better than Monday.
Spot cotton was quiet, unchanged, 18.40c
for middling upland.
South spot markets were Galveston,
17.55c, 6 points advance; New Orleans,
16.75. unchanged; Savannah, 17.38. un
changed; Augusta, 17c, unchanged; Mem
phis, 17.25c, unchanged; Houston, 17.60c,
10 points advance; Little Rock, 17, unchanged.

market was a little easier today with
Cuban prices unchanged on the spot and
I-I60 lower for early April shipment,
with both positions now quoted at 2c,
cost and freight, equal to 4.11c for cen
trifugal. There were salea of 20,000 bags
of Cuba for March shipment and 8,000
bags for April clearance at quoted prices
and 29.400 bags of Porto Rlcos tor April
shipment without port option at 4c
