on corn in the early session. There
was talk of new export business and
prices reacted somewhat, but the up
turns were shortlived and seemed
to meet profit taking sales.
Receipts of wheat were surprising
ly small today, only eight cars be
ing reported in. The run of corn
was about normal at 64 cars. Total
receipts were 87 cars, as compared
with 220 cars last year. Total shtp
. mrnts small at (6 ears, as against
98 cars a year ago. Quite a few cars
of wheat and corn were carried
over from yesterday. On account of
the lower future market buyers of
wheat were unwilling to pay any ad
vance and the floor offerings went at
unchanged prices as compared with
yesterday. There was a good de
mand for corn with prices J-lc to 1c
higher. Oats were ',4 c to -)ic up.
Rye was quoted lc higher, while bar-
(ley was unchanged.

market was firmer and while there was
no change on the spot. Cubas for April
shipment were higher on sales of 79.000
bags at 214 c cost and freight, equal to
3.860 for centrifugal. Spot prices were
quoted at S S-16c, cost and freight, equal
to 8.79o for centrifugal with no sales.
The raw sugar futures market was
more active and prices higher on buying
by trade Interests and commission houses,
prompted by tho advance in the spot
market. Finsl prices were 3 to 5 points
net higher. May closed 2.46c; July, 2.66c;
September. 2.82c; December, 2.83c.
The demand for refined sugar wns
again of fair proportions and prices were
firm and unchanged at 5.10c to 6.20c for
