New York, Slarch 6. Further advances
met scattered rallying In the market for
coffee futures today, hut the Brajlllan
marketa were firmer and there were con
tinued reports of a better spot demand,
which held prices generally steady. The
opening was 1 to 4 points higher,
active months sold 4 to 8 points net
higher, with May contracts touching IS.Stl
or J7 points above the low level of last
week. That delivery closed at $S.7 bid
with the general market showing a net
advance of 1 to 7 points. Sales were es
timated at about 31.90(1 hags. Marcn,

18 .80: October, 8.S1; December, 88.82.
Spot coffee was reported In better de
mand with prices firm at 9Ho for Rio 7's
and 13131o for Santos 4's. Coat and
fieight offers were firmer, Including San

19.60, American credits.
