Clicago, March 6. -Buying by ex
porters, shorts and communion
house turned a weak and declining
wheat market into a strong and ad

gains of I 1-21 S-8c. A big export
business was on in corn. 1 he close
was Vo l 3 He higher, while oats were
up 3-8l-2c and rye 1 7-Z62 l-8c.
A gradual tightening in the May
situation was apparent. Liverpool
was 2d lower early and induced sell
ing here. That carried the May off
2 l-2c to $1.39 1-2, a new low on the
downturn and 10 3-8c under the re
cent high. Strong commission houses
absorbed the offerings on the break.
Later there was talk of a big export
business A decrease of I.22J.OOO
bushels in the visible, also helped to
cause a long rally, followed by local
shorts coerinir freely on the way up.
The finish was within a fraction of the
top.
Favorable crop reports from the
southwest, with a wet snow falling
in parts of Kansas and Nebraska had
no effect on the July toward the last.
At one time it was 21c under the
May and at the close practically at
22c discount.
Red Winter Stronger.
There were Intimations of a better

at the opening.
Large aalea of caah corn were made to
the seaboard for export late Saturday
and the removal ' of hedges against thl
grain, combined with small receipt and
light country offerings, led to buying and
a good advance after a small break early,
Kaatern and New England demand wa
reported f.a better with sales of 150.000
birhets. Exporter took 600,000 bushels
here, and at the aeaboard aalea were

Oats reflected the action of other
gra.ns, breaking early and then rallying
and closing strong. There was talk of
a good export business at the seaboard.

Pit Notes.
Distribution of grain market prices and

was used and grain prices were sent out
