Omaha, March 2,
Receipts of wheat were 27 para,
corn 108 cars, other grains light. To
tal of all grains, 149 cars, as com
pared with 126 ears last year. Ship
ments totaled U5 cars against 149
cars a vear ago.
Liverpool market opened H5d
lower, but closed unchanged to U4d
higher. The Chicago future market
was slightly lower at the start, but
on the break commission houses
were good buyers and a good under
tone developed and prices advanced.
The factors causing this strength
was an estimate issued bv the lead
ing banking interests of Canada that
me crop ot me mree western prov
inces was 50,000,000 bushels less
than the last government report, and
reports of the purchase by exporters
of 1.500,000 bushels of Manitoba
wheat yesterday; also that export
bids at the gulf this morning were
stronger than for some time.
Final prices for Chicago futures
were about the Inchest of the day.
Sales of cash wheat today on the
local exchange were mane at gener
ally unchanged prices, lhere was a
eood demand for corn at unchanged
to lc up; oats sold H&Ac higher.

Chicago, March 2. Liquidation in
grains ran its course at the opening,
with wheat olf lc, but there was ex
cellcnt support on the break. While
long grain came out freely on the
bulges, there was a rush of buying
toward the last, based on Washing

selling by belated longs carried May

of the previous day. Many of the

the market. Liverpool later revers
ed its action, At the close it was un
chansed to 1 l-4d higher. That led
to free buying and a bulge to
$1.45 1-2. Above $1.45, until near
the close, there was free selling,
credited to longs. Numerous sharp
breaks occurred.
Sentiment Bearish.
Sentiment generally was bearish. A
majority of the pit element was abort
viien the market started upward on the
final bulge. General Icovcrlng was under
way at the lost. Winnipeg showed sur
prising strength. It gained 2o on May,
while Minneapolis went to a premum ot
14o over Chicago, against lc under at the
