were only 63 cars, while total ship
ments were 151 cars.
Liverpool market was H1 higher,
and this caused a bulge iust after
Chicago futures opened. On the ad
vance profit-takiiiir appeared and
prices receded. When quotations
reached a level slightly lower than
last night's close resting order
stopped the decline. The entire ses
sion was a slow affair with profit
taking on the bulges the feature; this
was especially true in July wheat on
account of the snow covering in
southern Kansas and Oklahoma.
Our cash .wheat was a slow sale
and quotations were unchanged to
2 cents lower. Corn sold ltC to le
lower, oats were nominally lc lower
and rye was 2c lower., while barley
was unchanged.

Chicago, Feb. 28, Grain market
showed a rather heavy undertone a
good part of the day. Those who
sold on the breaks, however, re
gretted it later. Price fluctuated in
a most erratic manner with long
grain coming out freely on the bulges
while on the breaks there was good
support. Wheat closed He higher
on May and He lower on July, while
corn was !c higher to 8c lower,
oats -)c lower to JgC higher and rye
Jj(i c lower.
Sentiment in what has undergone
a rather decided change. Many of
the local professionals and commis
sion nouses were on the selling side.
The breaking of the southwestern
drouth and persistent snowfall in the
last few days in Kansas and Okla
homa, with "lack of sustained export
demand, have had a depressing ef
fect. Even the congestion in May
wheat has not been able to overcome
that effect.

Corn and oat fluotuated in the same
erratic manner that characterized wheat,
with the finish on a good rally from the
low point. May corn advanced to 69c
early on short covering, only to drop
to 67 c later on general selling and
realising and closed at 68c.
Country offerings to arrive were lim
ited despite bids of 50c at country sta
tions In Illinois and Iowa, while receipts
were 308 cars. Samplo values were un
changed for the bulk of sales. Domestic
shipping aaleg were 95,000 bushels with
33.000 bushels to the seaboard and the
latter reported 200.000 hnihoi. .nM
