At a mectinir of the executive com
mittee Tuesday W. A. Fraser, head
of the W. O. W., from, whom the
chamber has leased its present quar
ter for the last 10 years, presented
a statement in which he announced
the rent 'would be boosted from 57
cents a square foot to $1.50, thus
raisins: the rent from $12,000 to $27.-
000. Mr, Fraser gave as his reason
the high prices of coal and labor.

that serious consideration be given
to a new location nearer the heart of
the city and financial district.
Mr. rraser denied rumors current
that if the Chamber of Commerce
moved, the headquarters of the W.

Desertion Alleged

Mrs. Myrl Graham, wife of How
ard B. Graham, prominent ice cream
and candy manufacturer, filed suit
for separate maintenance in district
court yesterday.
bhe alleges desertion seven rears
ago and asks support of $200 a month
for herself and a reasonable amount
for their son, Howard, 12, who is
attending school at Monmouth, III.
The petition states that she is in
poor health and unable to support
herself. She says Mr. Graham is
worth $125,000 and has a big income.
Mrs. Graham was deemed Ne
braska's- most beautiful girl 15 years
ago.
Bankrupt Fireman Owes
Over $600 for Clothing
Ross Defasi, a city fireman sta
tioned at the Eleventh and Dodge
streets station, filed a voluntary pe
tition in bankruptcy in federal court
yesterday.
The young man's liabilities are
$1,384 and his assets nothing, except
$250 worth of clothing. Among the
bills he owes and can't pay he gave

Locks Two in Ice Box;
. Robs Cash Register
A grocery store at 4705 South
Twenty-fourth street, operated by
the Misses Margaret and Beatrice
Welsh, was robbed of $295 in cash
at 7:45 yesterday morning by an
unmasked bandit.
The bandit forced Leo Clapp,,
butcher, and Miss Margerct Welsh
into the ice box and escaped from
the storeAvith the money, which he
took from the cash register.
Miss Welsh, and Clapp escaped
through another opening in the iee
box and called the police. The rob
ber was described as short in sta
ture, of sallow icornplexion and 30
years old.
