man. 70. who had been a resident of Ne
braska for more than half a century, died
at her residence after a severe illness of
many weeks. She was the wife of John
H. Layman. Mrs. Layman was a daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Kerns, who
camo from Pennsylvania ln 1866, settling
on a farm two miles south of Table Rock,
S'ha is survived by her husband, one son,
Glen Layman, and two daughters, Mr.
Llnnle Faulkner and Mr, F. W. Porak of
Humboldt Mr. Nancy. Talor of Table
Rock Is a sister and Wesley N. Kern of
Adams a brother. Funeral service were

Jefferson county.

youngest eon of Mr. and Mrs. William
Jones, died from a rupture of a blood
vessel in the brain. He was born at Madi
son, May 17. 1896. and had resided here all
his life. The funeral was held at his
parents home. Rev. Mr. Wlmberly offi
ciating. Burial was in Crownhill cemetery.

brother and one sister, and his grand
