Miss Charlotte Huntley, who has
been singing with the Kondolicrs
quintet in Canada and on the Pacific
coast, is starting south on a five
weeks' engagement. At end of
that time she will return to Omaha,
where she will be the house guest of
her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs.
William Faulkner.
Mis Agnei Regan, executive ff
retary of the National Catholic Wel
fare council, will explain the work
of the council at a public meeting at
the Fontenelle hotel on Sunday,
January at i o clock.
About 150 guest were present at
the tea which wa held last Sunday
afternoon at the Center. An appeal
was made for more volunteer to as-

Mrs. Elizabeth Griffith is spending
six weeks, in Omaha with Mrs.
Joseph Barton. Mrs. Griffith, who is
a sitrr of the late Bishop Arthur
L. Williams, is greatly interested in
the raising of pecans, an industry but
lately introduced in this country. She
is the owner of a plantation in the
center of the "Pecan Empire," as it
is called, id southern Georgia, and
she superintends operations there her
self, and takes great pride in the size
of her nuts, and their packing for
market. Mrs. Griffith will return to
Georgia in February. She divides her
time between the south and the
Sault Ste Marie in northern Michigan,
where she has a summer cottage.
