shall Field & Co. of Chicago. Mr. Shedd
Is a director In at least two banking in
stitutions ot Chicago. Thre is no Inter
locking law which forbids a banker of
one city from serving as a director in a
bank In another city.
Men From Other Cities.
The choice of Mr. Shedd again Illus
trates the tendency of our great banks to
place in the directorate men whose- ex
perience and whose successes have Justi
fied putting them 1n the list of the fore
most American business forces. Some of
the New York banks have chosen as di
rectors men who are conspicuous tn the
business and financial life of other cities.
As Mr. Shedd is known to be a man who
believes that a director in any Institu
tion should not shun his responsibility. It

Never Rode on Train Dies

Sarpy county for 65 years, died Sun
day at her home at Fort Crook.
Mrs. Eby never rode on a railroad
train. She came west from Ohio by
boat, traveling down the Ohio river
and lip the Missouri.
Site is survived by two sons, John
and Henry, and two daughters, Mrs.
Kmma Bray and Mrs. Kesiak Fox,
