Cattle Feeding in Holt
County on Rapid Increase
Cattle feeding operations in Holt
county are showing a large increase.
according to Joseph Kaup of Stuart,
who brought a choice load of steers
to the local market yesterday.
He said an exceptionally good
corn crop was raised last season and
that farmers in the county have tak
en favorably t. the livestock feed
ing game. Many carloads of live
stock will be shipped to the local
market next season, he asserted.
Plattsmouth to Have More
Night Police Protection
riattsmouth. Neb.. Jan. 13.-(Sic-
cial.) The city ' council ha con
curred with Plattsmouth merchants
lu placing a second night man on
the police force, half the expense be
ing borne by the city and halt by the
merchants. A recent clothing store
burglary and two unsuccessful at
tempts to rob other stores has led
to much agitation for further police
protection in the buusiness section.
Held on Alimony Charge.
.Beatrice, Neb., Jan. IJ. (Special.)
Daniel Jones, farmer, living near
Pickrell, was arrested and lodged
in jail for his alleged refusal to
pay $15 per month alimony. His
case was called before Judge Ellis
and set for hearing January 23. In
default of $300 bond he was remand-
ed to the county jail.
