Phil Patch went to a break . in this heat just as the field got the word, but settled the pace again before the field "got well into the Si:rn. They were all well bunched t the half, -which they reached in 3.03. Main Direct, with McGirr ' driving, pulled around the field on ,the lower turn and came on in with 'Banner M a bay' gelding by Ban ner Leaf, ' Perry up, chasing the gelding out, and; everybody whip ping. Main Direct paid $2.90 and .$2.40 to win and place while Banner M .paid $2.60 to place. , They got away to a fine start in the -second heat, going to the quarter in M bunch, with Banner M. leading the procession.
