Removed From Police
Force at Fremont

Fremont police department since
last spring, was discharged (rom the
forrc for aliened breaches of dis
cipline, connected with a boe
parly which came to grief in r're
inont few nights auo. M. Kraute,
Antone I'tih and Frits Bucholix, all
of Morse Blmf, Kcb4 and Clarence
Morgan of Fiemont, were srrested
in a restaurant on the charge of
creating a disturbance. A quantity
of boote was found in their posses
sion for which M. Krause, owner of
the car in which the1 liquor was
found, was fined JI'K)
The officer's discharge follows on
the heels of the arrest of these men.
Hooper was placed on the depart
ment by Mayor Green, shortly alter
he had been .released from jail after
serving three months on the charge
of bootlrgginK. Much wrath wa
stirred up with the appointment of
Hooprr a a cop but Mayor Green
and Sheriff Condit explained their
actions stating that the reformed
alleged bootlegger would aid in the
discovery of other traffickers in
liquor., . .

cial.) I'ricc of ice fell in Fremont
from $8 to 56 a ton as a result of
the cold weather. The drop in
temperature,, they stated, will elim
inate danger of waste and loss
caused by the oppressive heat suf
fered during the summer. They be
lieve the cool nights of the future
will allow the price of ice to remain
at the reduced figure.

stocks, dwellings, and household
goods at a minimum cost.
