So many entries for the United States lawn tennis singles championship tourna ment, to be held here beginning Sep tember 9, have been received at na tional tennis headquarters that of ficials are contemplating a pairing of the list to a limit of 128 players. It is almost certain that all of the high ranking players of 1?20 will play, and these, coupled with the promised heavy entry of foreign players, has led tennis enthusiasts to speculation on the fortune of the draw. The same method of "blind'' draw as used in the women's championship will be employed and it is nor impos sible, as in the case of the women's draw, which brought together in the early rounds Mrs. Franklin I.
