I opened Grace Draper's answer
to my letter with hands that 1 kept
from shaking only by putting fortli ,

ed or refused the offer I had marts
her on Dicky's account? And whal
would be my own reaction to tithci
decision on her part? At the mo
ment so coniliclinu were the emo
tions which swept me that 1 had no
answer for my own last query.
Dicky strolled up behind me laz

caution which avoided any mention

knowledge that you have really for

thing outside the routine of the last
