30,900, as against 17,400 a year ago. The
spread of steer prices is widened out this
week, good kinds, both native and west
ern, selling strong to 1525o higher,
while the plainer claaaea have been alow
and weak to as much ss 25c lower. Top
on cornfed reached 810.CS and full loads
of westerns brought $8.00. Most kinds of
cows and helfera ar off 26c o more for
the week. There was some reaction In

Hogs Receipts of hogs today were
limited to 2.900 head and prices paid
ruled strong to about a quarter higher.
Shippers bought most of their hogs at

Best light hogs made a top of $10.25 and
salea were scattered on bulk of tbo
supply, ranging from $8.00 to around
$10.00. The market daring the past
week haa ahown a sharply lower tend
ency but part of the early decline has
been regained and current values on
hogs are hardly more than 35860c lower
than a week ago.
